Fred Deutschman was born in New York, and grew up in Miami, Florida. After graduating law school, Fred worked for several years with a large workers’ compensation defense firm. While there he represented the interests of the insurance companies. It was during this time that he made the decision to switch sides and work on behalf of injured individuals and their families in the state of Florida.

Following three years as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Miami, Fred and his family relocated to Citrus County where he established a private law practice representing disabled and injured individuals and their families. He has distinguished himself as a member of the Workers’ Compensation Executive Council of the Florida Bar since 1986, as Chair of the Continuing Legal Education of the Section for over a decade, and in 1997 as the first sole practitioner in the state of Florida ever elected as Chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Florida Bar.

In addition to being a longstanding member of Florida Workers’ Advocates (“FWA”), Fred has received the highest possible rating, “AV”, from Martindale-Hubbell. The Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating is a Peer Review Rating and shows that a lawyer has reached the height of professional excellence. This evidences the fact that Fred has practiced law for many years, and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity.

As a Certified Civil Mediator, Fred has mediated hundreds of workers’ compensation cases throughout central Florida. He is well-known and widely regarded throughout the state of Florida as a highly motivated, aggressive and compassionate attorney.
